Report ranks top 10 deadliest vehicles

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – New numbers reveal the deadliest cars on the road.  What the study shows overall is the smaller, cheaper vehicles far and away are the deadliest.

The Insurance of Highway Safety released the numbers Thursday.

The institute conducted a study over three years for 2011 and equivalent models.  Out of the vehicles, nine of them registered zero deaths.

On the very opposite end of the spectrum were the most fatal.  The numbers represent the deaths per one million registered vehicles.

The overall death rate for all 2011 and equivalent models during 2009-12 was 28 deaths per million registered vehicles years.

In 2014, the Institute also mentioned that many teenagers actually drive these dangerous cars.  They’re simply more affordable for parents.  In that article the institute also mentions how it’s understandable if parents can’t afford a vehicle on their Safety Picks.
