INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Perry Township Schools Police and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were on alert Wednesday night for a suspicious minivan from which the driver called out to a child.

Authorities said in a Perry Township Schools Facebook post that police were told a man tried to lure a 4-year-old into the minivan by asking whether the child wanted a dinosaur. There was no physical attempt to grab the child, but the parent did file a report, police said.

The minivan was described as silver or white and about 10 years old. The driver was described as a man in his mid-40s with dirty, long, brown hair, and a medium build. He was spotted near the Glenns Valley Nature Park, 8015 Bluff Road, which is south of West Stop 11 Road. The incident did not occur at nearby Glenns Valley Elementary School, the district said.

Police asked the community to be vigilant as they search for the minivan.
