Scott Wise to open restaurant in closed Scotty’s Brewhouse in Muncie

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — The founder of Scotty’s Brewhouse has plans to open a new restaurant at the same location of the original Scotty’s.

The location on University Avenue in Muncie closed in December.

Founder Scott Wise sold the franchise in 2016, and it filed for bankruptcy in 2018.

According to the Ball State University Indianapolis alumni chapter, Wise is bringing the Muncie location back to life.

The chapter said he’s teaming up with Phil Wills to open Roots Burger Bar. The chapter said the two have pending applications for beer, wine, liquor and catering licenses. The chapter said the restaurant could open sometime in June.
