Several showers, cooler temps on tap this weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Numerous rain chances are in the forecast for the weekend.

Today:

Area of low pressure are already bringing showers to the area this morning. As the low moves overhead this afternoon, expect several showers and even a few thunderstorms to the area heading into the afternoon. No severe weather is expected, but several downpours leading to isolated flooding will be possible.

Highs only hit the mid 70s this afternoon.

Tonight:

Slow moving system will still be around, continuing our threat for showers across the area through the overnight hours.

Lows dip to the middle 60s.

Sunday:

Scattered showers and storms are possible, and likely more numerous in the morning hours. Isolated showers will be possible in the afternoon.

Highs top out in the upper 70s.

8 day forecast:

More rain chances on tap with a frontal system moving through on Monday. Total rainfall for the 3 day period could exceed 2″ in spots.

Meanwhile, the rest of the week from Tuesday afternoon through Friday should be quiet and comfortable, with highs mainly in the 70s.
