Silver Alert issued for missing Anderson man

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) – A statewide Silver Alert was issued Friday morning for a missing Anderson man last seen Tuesday.

The Anderson Police Department is investigating the disappearance of 72-year-old Billy Joe Cox.

He’s described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with shoulder length white hair and hazel eyes. He has multiple tattoos on his left shoulder and upper back, police say.

It’s unknown what type clothing Cox was wearing at the time of his disappearance. Police say he was last seen Tuesday, June 2 at 2 p.m. in Anderson.

Cox is believed to be in danger and may require urgent medical attention. Police say if you encounter Cox, do not confront him – instead immediately notify police.

Police believe Cox is traveling to Muncie in a red 1988 Chevrolet C-15 pickup truck with Indiana plate D824BF.
