Some IPL customers still without power after Wednesday storms
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Nearly 2,000 IPL customers were still without power Friday morning. Strong storms knocked out power to nearly 37,000 customers Wednesday evening.
Crews have been working through the night to restore the power. The number of outages dropped steadily throughout the early morning hours Friday. Strong winds and rain took down power lines, poles and trees Wednesday. Crews said that makes it difficult to get everything fixed quickly and safely.
IPL said 400 crews have been working on the repairs since Wednesday, and they expect most customers to have power sometime Friday.
An IPL spokesperson reminded customers to stay away from power lines and to report any that have fallen down.
