Sources: IMPD finds body inside shallow grave, covered in concrete

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A well-placed tip led the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department to a gruesome discovery.

According to sources within the police department, detectives found the body of a man in a shallow grave with concrete poured on top.

The scene is in 1200 block of West 29th Street.

Since Tuesday, crews have been working to remove the body.

IMPD has not released any details, only saying a death investigation is underway.

“It is very early in this investigation, there is not a lot of information we can put out there at this time,” said Officer Jim Gillespie.

The victim has not been identified. No word yet on a possible suspect.This story will be updated once more information is becomes available.
