Southwestern Indiana woman sentenced to 25 years in confinement case
MOUNT VERNON, Ind. (AP) – A southwestern Indiana woman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for her role in the confinement and repeated rapes of a woman over 59 days.
Forty-six-year-old Kendra Tooley of Poseyville pleading guilty to rape and two counts of criminal confinement in Posey Circuit Court on Tuesday.
Defense attorney Glenn Grampp says Tooley accepted a plea agreement because of the risk of a longer sentence if convicted at trial. Her boyfriend, 39-year-old Ricky House Jr., is serving 93 years in prison on his convictions last year for rape, criminal confinement and kidnapping.
An Evansville woman testified at House’s trial that he and Tooley threatened to kill her if she tried to escape. She testified House kept her in a wooden cage during part of her confinement.
