Special Olympics host mini combine at Colts facility
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Special Olympics athletes put on a clinic in Indianapolis Satuday.
They call it the mini combine and it is very similar to the pro combine.
The combine took place at the Colts training facility on the west side.
About 100 athletes from across the state took part in the event.
The goal was to give them a chance to do what the NFL prospects are doing in downtown. It also lets the athletes play in a world class facility.
“Our athletes are just like anyone who walks into this building. You’re in a location where the best of the best play,” said Michael Furnish from Special Olympics Indiana. “The Superbowl trophy is up there on the wall and all of our athletes are really inspired to come out here and play just like the Colts.”
They say the combine is growing every year.
