St. Francis patients affected by data breach

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Franciscan St. Francis Health says that some of their patients could be affected by a recent data breach.

The breach was reported to the hospital by Medical Informatics Engineering (MIE).

MIE sent letters to those affected by the breach. MIE says that only people who have received the letter have information that has been compromised.

Customers who received the letter should call the toll free number provided and are encouraged to check their personal information. Each patient will also receive free credit monitoring.

If you have been affected by the breach you should also contact each one of your credit card companies to inform them.

The FBI is actively investigating the breach.
