State Road 37 project set to begin this summer

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – Officials gave residents a closer look Tuesday evening at plans to give State Road 37 a major facelift.

Leaders answered questions about the project, which is set to begin this summer.

The goal is to improve traffic flow, specifically between 126th Street and 146th Street. Plans call for roundabouts or additional lanes at all the major intersections in the area.

Leaders hope the project will imporve residents’ overall quality of life.

“More time at home with their families, an easier route to the businesses they want to go see,” said Jason Taylor, Fishers Director of Engineering. “Whatever the business they want to go to, just an ease in the congestion and a safer corridor.”

Work on the first interchange at 126th Street is set to start later this summer. Crews hope to finish the project before the end of 2022.
