Storms return Sunday
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Warm temperatuers will help fuel storm chances later in the day Sunday.
Sunday:
An upper level system lifting through the Midwest will spark a few rounds of precipitatoin across the area. The first system will come in the morning hours. You can expect mostly garden variety showers, but a few rumbles of thunder can’t be ruled out.
We’ll likely catch a lull around lunch time, before the second round moves in. This wave could pack a bit more of a punch, with the potential for strong to severe storms Sunday afternoon – especially for the southern half of the state. All modes of severe weather are in play for the afternoon hours.
High temperatures should make a run to near 70° this afternoon.
Sunday Night:
We’ll see the rain chances wind down late tonight into the overnight hours. You can expect mostly cloudy conditions, with lows in the upper 50s.
Monday:
Clouds will hang around for much of the day with a few isolated showers possible for the morning through early afternoon hours, before drying out late day.
Highs will hit the lower 70s.
8 day forecast:
It will be quiet for the mid-week with highs topping out in the upper 60s Tuesday, and lower 60s Wednesday. A potent system moving into the Midwest Thursday will spark showers and storms, along with gusty winds Thursday afternoon and evening. Cooler temperatures will be on tap for Friday into the weekend following the Thursday system.
