Storms return this weekend, beautiful work week ahead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)– Showers and storms will work their way into our area ahead of a cold front that will bring beautiful conditions for the middle of the week.

Good Saturday evening! We had another hot and steamy day today with highs in the low 90s for the majority of the state, with heat index values in the mid-90s.

TONIGHT:
We will be very slow to cool off with temperatures remaining in the upper 80s near 8 pm with rain shower chances beginning to increase.
As we make out way into the early to late evening hours, rain will begin to work its way into our far western counties before becoming more scattered to widespread into the morning hours tomorrow. We should remain dry here in the metro for most of the overnight hours.

Low temperatures tonight will bottom out in the low 70s

TOMORROW:
Make sure to keep the rain gear handy for the day tomorrow as rain chances will stick around for most of the day. We could see a few scattered showers for the morning drive, but a better chance for stronger showers and storms arrives into the afternoon and evening hours.

The Storm Prediction Center has outlined a chance for strong to severe storms tomorrow from south of the Indianapolis metro all the way to the Ohio River. Damaging winds and some hail will be the primary threats.
High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s.

MONDAY:
It will be another hot and very humid day with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.
By the late afternoon hours, shower and storm chances will pick up ahead of our next cold front.
EXTENDED FORECAST:
Behind the cold front, humidity levels and temperatures will drop back to a much more comfortable level. We’ll keep isolated rain chances on Tuesday before drying out until the end of the week when storm chances return. Temperatures will be at or even slightly below average by the middle to end of next week.
