Strong storms possible this afternoon with better weather for Friday

INDIANAPOLIS WISH) — Good Thursday morning, everyone! If the kids are already headed back to school this morning, they’ll be fine this morning but you might send them out the door with an umbrella for the ride home.

We’re going to start the morning in the low to mid 60s in most areas and climb into the mid 80s this afternoon.

While we will start the day with a mix of sun and clouds, rain chances will rise with the heating of the day.

A stray shower is possible in our northernmost communities through the late morning hours, but the initial line will fall apart by mid-day.

With the heating of the day, a more potent, broken line of storms will develop this afternoon and continue into the early evening.

A MARGINAL Risk for severe storms is in place for our north-easternmost communities this afternoon with a slim chance for damaging wind and hail.

If you’re headed to Noblesville for the Foo Fighters concert this evening, outside of a slim storm chance to try to throw a monkey wrench in your plans, it looks like a pretty decent evening. Enjoy the times like these with temperatures dropping through the 70s by concert time.

Lows will sink into the upper 50s and low 60s tonight as skies clear out, so you can crack open the windows before going to sleep for a bit of free a/c.

We’ll close out the work week on a great note weather wise with a mix of sun and clouds and highs only set to top out in the upper 70s.

High temperatures over the next 5-8 days look to remain at or below average. Enjoy the cool down!

We’ll see our next chance for rain by Saturday, though the chance will be slim at best. Better storm chances slide our way Sunday.

The rain chances will continue to rise as we head into next work week.

Our best chance for storms will move in by Tuesday of next week with rain-cooled highs in the mid 70s before we rebound again by this time next week.
