Study: Colts fans polite during playoffs

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Colts fans were some of the nicest during this year’s NFL playoff games, a newly released study of social media activity shows.

According to research done by Proofpoint, a global cyber security firm, the Colts had the fourth-kindest social media presence from fans during the playoffs. The study looked at posts to and about the official social accounts of each of the 12 teams that made an NFL postseason appearance this year.

The Colts were behind Carolina, Denver, and Seattle, who held the first, second and third spots, respectively, on the list of the ‘most polite’ fan bases.

While Indianapolis didn’t make any of the other top five lists released by the firm, the Patriots did. New England came in as No. 3 on the list of the five most-profane fan bases during the playoffs.

The study also showed fans of teams like New England and Dallas are targeted more often by hacking and malware in social media.
