Sunday’s anti-violence march to encourage sense of community

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Community leaders and religious officials have made plans this weekend for a march and rally against the rush of recent gun violence in Indianapolis.

The Ten Point Coalition, along with elected officials, community leaders and other churches are holding a get-together on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pilgrim Baptist Church at 1060 West 30th Street.

The purpose of the march and rally is not only to build a sense of community, but to build a stronger sense of community, to fight against the violence. And hopefully the rally will encourage those who have information about crimes to feel safe enough to step forward with information.

Community members are welcome to meet in the parking lot of the Pilgrim Baptist Church, where the march to the recent quadruple homicide scene is set to begin. The march will end in a short prayer vigil and press conference.
