Suspect flees after firing shot during gas station robbery

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) – Police are looking for a man they say robbed a gas station Monday evening.

According to Speedway Police Lt. Trent Theobald, the robbery occurred around 8:45 p.m. at the Circle K gas station located at 2610 North High School Road.

Lt. Theobald said that a clean shaven black male in his 20s, wearing a grey beanie hat, black leather coat, dark pants and white tennis shoes entered the gas station and displayed a handgun. He took cigarettes and cash from the store and fired a shot into the air.

Nobody was hurt in the incident. The suspect fled the gas station on foot.

Police set a perimeter in the area and were using a K-9 to search for the suspect.
