Tall, stocky woman accused of going on a crime spree

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a bizarre case outside a restaurant.

According to the police report a tall, stocky woman snatched a woman’s purse outside Little Caesars on the 2000 block of West Washington Street.

The suspect then jumped in a car and drove away. A Good Samaritan from a distance watched it all unfold and followed the woman.

Suddenly the woman jumped out of the car near Traub Avenue and North Belmont Avenue with a gun in hand and carjacked the man following her.

“Typically it’s not a woman that would do this in broad daylight,” said Michael Hammer.

So far, police do not have a clear description of the suspect, but the department did give details on what to do if faced with a similar situation.

“You have to consider all the factors in these situations, stay as far back as you can call police immediately and report what you are seeing,” said Sgt. Kendale Adams.

If you have any information in this case call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
