Taylor University marks the 10th anniversary of horrific crash

UPLAND, Ind. (WISH) – The first of three services to honor those that were killed in a crash 10 years ago began Monday.

The crash killed five people along I-69. The crash happened on April 26, 2006.

A semi crossed the median and killed a van that held four Taylor University students and one staff member.

The story made international news a month after the crash.

It was discovered that one of the surviving victims was mistakenly identified as one of the dead.

There will be two memorial services for the victims of the crash, one Tuesday afternoon and the other Wednesday morning.

The misidentified surviving student will be at Wednesday’s service.
