Three face 13 charges following meth bust

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Police arrested three people when they discovered an active meth lab while investigating a home on the Fort Wayne’s northwest side Friday afternoon.

According to 24-Hour News 8 new partner, WANE, around 2 p.m., the Fort Wayne Police Department served a warrant to search the house located at 1701 Spring Street, near Rumsey Avenue. Police found the meth lab and neutralized it.

According to a release from police, the children who live at the house were at school at the time. Fort Wayne Animal Control was called in to remove a dog. The house has been condemned by the Allen County Board of Health until chemical hazards from the meth lab have been reduced.

The three people who were arrested face the following charges:

Trevor  Elijah Pena, 26

  •                 Dumping Controlled Waste
  •                 Possession of Meth Precursors
  •                 Maintaining a Common Nuisance
  •                 Neglect of a Dependent

Taren Marie Pena, 23

  •                 Manufacturing Methamphetamine
  •                 Possession of Methamphetamine
  •                 Possession of Meth Precursors
  •                 Maintaining a Common Nuisance
  •                 Possession of Psilocybin Mushrooms

Jonathan Michael Sheperd, 24
