Thursday’s business headlines

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Here’s a look at Thursday’s business headlines.

Apple

Apple has unveiled what it calls the most advanced iPhone it has created.

There are three versions – the 10s, the 10s Max and the 10R.

They start $749 and top out at $1,100.

The Apple Watch is even more health-focused.

It can monitor your heart rate while working out and even provide heart issues that the wearer may not have been aware of.

Oil

Shale oil production has helped the US surpass Russia and Saudi Arabia and become the world’s largest oil producer.

The Energy Information Administration says the US will continue to outproduce those counties through next year.

The main shale oil regions are in Texas and North Dakota.

Tobacco

Tobacco company shares were on track to some of their biggest gains in years after the FDA said that the agency could ban all flavored e-cigarette due to their popularity among teenagers.

Investors appeared to see an opening for traditional tobacco companies, which have seen sales of cigarettes tumble.

The FDA says vaping among teens had reached epidemic levels.
