Tibbs Drive-In Theater hosts movie night for kids with life-threatening illnesses

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Tibbs Drive-In Theater is hosting a movie night for families who have kids with life-threatening illnesses. The event is being put on by the A Kid Again Indiana chapter as part its “Be A Kid Again Day” celebration.

A Kid Again Indiana provides these families with cost-free, year-round, adventures helping families make memories during a tough time. Their goal is for families to have moments to look forward to in between hospital visits while making sure parents and siblings also get to feel supported and have a good time.

The families will be checking out a screening of “Boss Baby 2.”

Randall Newsome spoke with A Kid Again board member Kelsey Rowles, who also works with the Indianapolis Colts, about the impact she’s seen events like these have and how she got involved with the organization.

July 8 is nationally known as “A Kid Again Day,” and this year Gov. Eric Holcomb made that official in the state with an proclamation.

According to A Kid Again Indiana, more than 10,000 Hoosier families have children battling through life-threatening illnesses. Find out more on how the organization supports them and how you can help on their website.
