Tips on how to detect breast cancer
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — October is breast cancer awareness month and the National Breast Cancer Foundation reports one in eight women will develop breast caner in her lifetime.
Dr. Tarah Ballinger from IU health stopped by the Daybreak studios Sunday to talk about warning signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
“The way breast cancer presents and how we screen for it is different in every woman,” said Ballinger. “Some of the things to look for are skin color changes, pain, changes in the nipple, lumps and bumps, really anything that’s out of the ordinary.”
Ballinger encourages both men and women to get regularly get checked.
