Get the best of both worlds with a Cinco de Mayo & Kentucky Derby-themed cocktail

Hmmm. To celebrate Cinco de Mayo -OR- the Kentucky Derby??

Well, why choose just one? Celebrate BOTH with a margarita AND a mint julep with Jason Foust, Beverage Director, Festiva!

On today’s Indy Style, Jason shows us how to make an Anejo Julep, which gives you the best of both holidays. Jason says this is with Patrón Anejo tequila, which is necessary for the best cocktails – and the rich aged notes of this tequila are similar to that of the whiskey you’d normally have in a Mint Julep!

Jason says, take note of this though: While he’s using a Lewis bag, which is the bartending equipment to crush ice, at home, you can place ice in a bag or towel, and use a wooden mallet to create ice perfect for a julep.
