IMPD: Elderly victim found dead on city’s east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers are investigating a deadly shooting on the city’s east side.

According to IMPD, Robert Woods, 82, was found dead on Saturday.

Police say the elderly male victim was dead inside of a residence when they arrived to the scene from apparent gunshot wounds.

IMPD believes the shooting happened sometime Friday. Investigators are trying to determine if a shots fired run from Friday evening is connected to the homicide investigation.

Homicide detectives have surveillance video of a vehicle that is of interest in the shooting.
