Vice President-elect tells Hoosier veterans ‘thank you’

EDINBURGH, Ind. (WISH) — A caravan of sleek black vehicles pulled up to Camp Atterbury. Vice President-elect Mike Pence stepped out of the vehicle.

Pence joined representatives from Indiana National Guard and the Indiana Department of Veterans’ Affairs at a Veterans Day ceremony at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh.

During the celebration Pence shared a message with veterans.

“My hope and my prayer is that today is an encouragement to each of you,” said Pence.

More than hundred people waited for a chance to see Pence. After the ceremony was over, Pence stayed more than 30 minutes talking to those in attendance.

Pence wrote a note to one boy in the crowd telling him to dream big and pray a lot.
