Victims ID’d in Lawrence apartment complex shooting

LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) – Detectives in Lawrence say two people were found shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex late Thursday morning.

The two men have been identified by police as Ramont Robinson, 18, and Patrick Rodriguez, 24.

Officers were called to the 4600 block of Englewood Drive around 11:20 a.m. on the report of a person shot. This is near East 46th Street and Shadeland Avenue.

Police say Rodriguez was shot in the hip and was taken to an Indianapolis hospital to undergo surgery. Robinson was shot in the leg and was also taken to a local hospital for treatment..

The shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two groups of people. It was not a random act, police said.
