Warm and breezy with strong storms possible late week

Not a bad way to start the month of May! Temperatures starting off in the lower 50s with nothing but sunshine! Highs will quickly warm up today topping out in the lower 80s. Red Flag Warning in effect as well since the air and ground are so dry and winds will pick up this afternoon. Burning discouraged today. Winds will pick up this afternoon with gusts upwards of 20-25 mph. Late tonight lows will stay in the lower 60s with clear skies. Winds will crank up overnight with gusts upwards of 35-40 mph!

Wednesday is looking even warmer with highs widespread in the mid to lower 80s with an isolated chance of a shower and windy again. Winds will be out of the south at 35-40 mph.

Showers and storms more wide spread come Thursday with the potential for an isolated strong to severe storm possible with gusty winds and heavy rain as main threats but we’re not ruling out an isolated tornado. Most of the state under a marginal risk whole areas closer to the Indiana and Illinois state line have a slight risk Thursday afternoon.

Friday showers and storms with highs in the mid 70s. When it’s all said and done rain accumulations could range from 0.50″-1.00″ of rain.

This weekend is looking fantastic with highs in the 70s and lots of sunshine!
