Warm temperatures continue; some showers possible Tuesday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Well above average temperatures continue this week, with several storm chances late in the week.

Tonight:

Stationary boundary is hanging out just to our north.  The boundary should stay north of us, at least for tonight, leaving us dry and warm for the overnight hours.

Lows dip down to the middle 60s.

Tuesday:

Previously mentioned front moves into the state starting late morning, and stalling out of central Indiana for the afternoon.  While rain chances don’t look overly impressive, there is still and isolated shot for a brief shower or storm – especially in the afternoon hours.

Highs top out in the lower 80s.

Wednesday:

Tuesday’s frontal system fizzles out, which should leave us dry and very warm.  Highs hit the middle 80s.

8-day forecast:

No break from the 80° heat.  A big time pull from the southwest will ramp up the humidity starting Thursday, and with that, several storm chances from Thursday through Sunday.  While none of the days appear to be a washout, it should be noted that several downpours could be possible during that period.

Long term, the next 6-10 days also look very warm, according to the Climate Prediction Center, which as us the above average temperature territory.  Our average high for this time of year should only be in the lower 70s.
