We briefly dry out before storms return

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We briefly dry out Thursday night before storms return to the forecast Friday. 

Thursday night: 
 We will briefly dry out overnight as temperatures fall to upper 50s.  

Friday:
Enjoy a dry start to the day under partly sunny skies. It’ll be slightly warmer in the afternoon with high temperatures in the low 80s. Scattered showers will return to the forecast Friday afternoon. Isolated strong to severe storms will develop during the evening commute. 

This weekend: 
Expect a very warm and muggy Saturday afternoon as temperatures warm to the low 80s. It will feel much warmer when you factor in the humidity. Showers and storms will bring heavy rain, lightning and strong winds.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop Sunday. Heavy rain will continue to cause flooding issues around the state. We’re expecting some of the warmest air of the year Sunday as temperatures warm to the upper 80s. It will feel like the 90s when you factor in the humidity. Strong to severe storms are possible Saturday and Sunday. 

8-day forecast:
The stormy pattern will continue into next week. Prepare for scattered showers and thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday. Enjoy very warm days with afternoon high temperatures in the mid 80s through midweek. A few showers will linger into Wednesday before we finally dry out Thursday and Friday.
