WHOOPS! Florida police looking for person who donated 4.6 lbs of pot to thrift shop

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) – Sarasota police are investigating after someone donated a marijuana-stuffed tote bag to a local thrift store.

A worker at the Pines of Sarasota thrift shop located at 1038 North Orange Avenue said he saw a white tote that had been left at the drop-off area of the store.

He said he was not sure what was in it, so he set it aside for later.

He told police that a couple days later, he opened the tote and made a small cut in one of the four bags.

Then he found four, vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana in the tote.

The man called Sarasota police, who confiscated the drugs.

Police say the bags of pot weighed a total of 2,100 grams, which is about 4.6 lbs of marijuana.

Detectives are checking surveillance cameras near the store to see if they can figure out who made the unusual and illegal donation.
