Widow of ‘American Sniper’ Navy Seal visits Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The widow of the Navy Seal made famous in the “American Sniper” book and movie was in Indianapolis Wednesday.

Taya Kyle, who is an outspoken advocate for veterans, toured the VA hospital and talked with veterans in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

Kyle is also in town to participate in Friday’s pit stop competition at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on a unique team created by PIRTEK Team Murray and the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation that is composed of six service members and first responders from across North America.

In addition, Kyle is promoting her memoir, called “American Wife.”

“The unintended outcome is that it’s something all people can relate to not just people in that service community,” Kyle said of the book. “I think we all have those aspects in our lives so it’s been definitely an adventure in seeing how that book is helping different people.”
