Wintry mix for the end of the weekend
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Skies will stay mostly clear Saturday evening as temperatures drop into the lower 20s.
Clouds are expected to increase overnight ahead of our next storm system. Lows Saturday night will fall into the upper teens. By early Sunday morning, we’ll see temperatures in the teens with light snow developing.
The snow will continue for the first part of Sunday. There’s a chance we may see a brief period of freezing rain in parts of central Indiana around lunch time.
Areas north of Indianapolis will see about 1-2 inches of snow possible, while areas south of Indianapolis will see less than an inch. A little light freezing rain will develop. but ice accumulations should stay below a tenth of an inch.
Highs on Sunday will climb into the low and middle 30s.
More rain heads this way for Sunday night and Monday. There may be a brief period of freezing rain overnight Sunday, but it should change over to all rain by Monday morning.
The rain will continue on and off throughout Monday, eventually coming to an end by early Tuesday.
Additional rainfall amounts may be close to an inch across central Indiana.
Temperatures climb into the 40s once again Monday and Tuesday. We’ll be dry Wednesday but another round of rain heads this way late Thursday and early Friday.
