Wisconsin frontcourt withstands Kentucky platoon

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – It’s Wisconsin by a knockout in the Final Four.

Frank “the Tank” Kaminsky and Sam Dekker led the charge. Nigel Hayes flanked the big guys up front.

The Badgers have a shot at winning at their first national title since 1941 after taking a heavyweight fight of a national semifinal game, 71-64 over unbeaten Kentucky on Saturday night.

Next up is the national championship game on Monday night against Duke and freshman phenom center Jahlil Okafor.

But first, a day of well-earned rest for Wisconsin and its experienced frontcourt after taking on wave after wave of the young Wildcats.

Kaminsky, the AP player of the year, had 20 points. Dekker finished with 16, while Hayes had 12.

They withstood Kentucky’s vaunted platoon system of elite recruits and future NBA players.
