WISH Patrol to surprise college student who helps the homeless

ANDERSON (WISH) – For Darrius Mitchell, giving back has become a way of life.

A junior at Anderson University and running back on the school’s football team, Mitchell has been using his own money to buy bottled water, food and personal hygiene items he then passes out to the homeless around Indianapolis.

When the WISH Patrol learned of what Mitchell was doing, we teamed up with Coca-Cola Consolidated and Kroger to give him the tools to keep making a difference in the community.

Carmel church holds drive-thru for Ash Wednesday

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – For those who may not be able to make it to a church service but still want to take part in Ash Wednesday, one local church provided a solution.

The Carmel United Methodist Church on Rangeline Road had a drive-thru.

Ash Wednesday signifies the start of Lent, which ends with Easter Sunday.
