Woman dies after single-vehicle crash on I-69 in Madison Co.

MADISON COUNTY, Ind (WISH) — A woman died after a crash on I-69 Saturday in Madison County, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.

Emergency crews responded to a one-vehicle crash on I-69 at the 214 mile marker around 8:30 p.m.

Police say 25-year-old Chelsa J. Cornell, of Anderson, was driving north on I-69 when she lost control while making a lane change.

The vehicle entered the grass median, flipped, went over a cable barrier and landed in the southbound lanes, according to authorities.

Cornell was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Both north and south traffic was diverted from the area for about two hours Saturday evening.
