Woman finds invader at bedroom door while husband at church
SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – A husband was at church when his pastor came up to him and said his wife just called and said their home had been invaded, according to a Spartanburg Police report.
It happened at a home in the 100 block of Park Dr. in Spartanburg around 9:30 Sunday morning.
The wife said she was home in their upstairs bedroom when she heard a knock on their front door about five minutes after her husband left for church.
After a few knocks, she thought the person had left.
She said she stayed in bed when all of a sudden the bedroom door slowly crept open.
A man was squatting down in the door way.
The man told her that her husband hired him to do some yard work.
Then left through the front door.
She said the man was about 5’10” and thin and looked to be 40 to 50 years old.
He was wearing dark clothes and a red bandana.
The husband told police the man came inside the house from the back door which was locked.
Police say there were tool marks on the door frame where it appeared the suspect forced his way in.
The husband said nothing appeared to be stolen.
