Woman inside home injured in suspected drive-by shooting
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Gunshots from a drive-by shooting hit a house and car on the city’s near southeast side, wounding a woman.
Officers early Monday morning responded to a home on East Terrace Avenue, where it appeared a person drove by the house and started shooting, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
A 63-year-old woman inside the house was hit in the leg by a bullet. She told police she believes a family member may have been the intended target, according to IMPD.
Officers will be conducting extra patrols in the area for the foreseeable future, IMPD said.
No suspect was in custody on Monday.
