Woman rescued after jumping off Columbus bridge

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – A daring rescue occurred Friday morning.

A police officer saw a woman jump off the Third Street bridge into the East Fork of the White River and called for backup.

Emergency crews followed her down the river until a Columbus firefighter could get in and save her. The department caught the rescue on video.

The woman was taken to the hospital. Her current condition has not been released.

None of the first responders were hurt.
