Woman sentenced in double fatal crash near Geist Reservoir

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A woman was sentenced for her role in a deadly accident near the Geist Reservoir in August.

22-year-old Paige Byers of Noblesville was sentenced to eight years. Three years will be served during home detention, one year for the Marion County Community Corrections work release program and four years suspended. She pleaded guilty to causing death when operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

According to IMPD officials, the crash happened on Fall Creek Road and Sand Key Lane on August 9. Two people died in the crash police said.

Officers say a black Cadillac SUV and a blue Ford Explorer crashed head-on. The Cadillac was engulfed in flames. Byers was taken to the hospital in serious condition. She was later had her blood tested. Test results showed she was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
