David James

David James is the Storm Track 8 meteorologist on weekend evenings. He joined WISH-TV in April 2021.

David’s education background includes a Bachelors Degree in Meteorology from Parks College of St. Louis University and a Masters Degree in Environmental Policy from Indiana University.

His career started as an Air Force Weather Officer at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi MS. For a few years he was an operational forecaster for Murray and Trettel in suburban Chicago.

In 1980 he began a 20 year run as a weather anchor and reporter for WRTV in Indianapolis. David’s second tour of duty at Murray and Trettel started in 2006.

At various times, David has taught meteorology at IUPUI, the University of Indianapolis and Vincennes University.
