Sierra Hignite

Sierra Hignite joined WISH-TV as a reporter in March of 2019.

Sierra is a Hoosier through and through, born and raised in Greenwood, Indiana she graduated from Greenwood High School. Later, Sierra earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University where she also minored in Fashion Design.

Previously, Sierra spent two years working with WTWO in Terre Haute, Indiana where she was a reporter, anchor and weather anchor. During her time in Terre Haute, Sierra received a Wilbur Award, one of the oldest awards in journalism, for her work.

Her interest in journalism stretches back to her high school years where she was a part of her school’s broadcast program. During her time at IU, Sierra was named News Director of the student television station where she also anchored a weekly show.

Sierra grew up cheering and dancing competitively. Now that she has retired the cheer shoes, she coaches at a local gym.
