Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. clears concussion protocol; RB Zack Moss ruled out
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Friday brought some good news for the Indianapolis Colts.
Wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. has cleared concussion protocol and “should be ready to roll” for Sunday’s Week 17 home game against the Las Vegas Raiders, says head coach Shane Steichen.
Pittman was injured during the Colts’ 30-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Dec. 16. Concussion and shoulder issues forced him to miss Sunday’s blowout loss against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Colts on Friday ruled out running back Zack Moss (forearm). Like Pittman, Moss was injured in the team’s Week 15 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Steichen did not rule out right tackle Braden Smith, who suffered a knee injury in the Colts’ Week 13 win over the Tennessee Titans and has not played since.
The outcome of Sunday’s clash with Las Vegas will have major playoff implications for the Colts, who hold the last AFC Wild Card spot with two games remaining. If Indy wins the final two games of the regular season, they would be guaranteed at least a No. 7 seed in the playoffs.
The Colts (8-7) will host the Las Vegas Raiders (7-8) at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. EST.
