INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – With the NBA Draft on the horizon, the Indiana Pacers continue to bring in potential draftees to evaluate in workouts.

“It was a bit more exciting for me more than the other guys just because, ya know, I’ve been in Indiana for the last four years. But, ya know, I appreciate them bringing me in for the opportunity,” said former Indiana University forward Juwan Morgan.

Morgan has taken more of a traditional route to the NBA. He stayed in Bloomington for all four years of his eligibility, however, he doesn’t feel that is going to hold him back on draft night.

“I feel young guys don’t really know who they are as a player really, and they want to be the man still, so I think just with the experience, ya know, that’s what you see in the NCAA tournament, teams with experience are usually the ones that win,” said Morgan.

As for what Morgan could bring to the Pacers?

“First I think an immediate impact would be on the defensive end, I think I could impact it in different ways. I feel like defense is the best way to get on the floor when, ya know, you’re not just going to come in and be a dominant scorer,” said Morgan.

After four years with Indiana’s program, the forward has plenty of former teammates with NBA experience who have provided insight to the process.

“It’s prepared me really well, just being able to talk to those guys, pick their brain about what they went through and how they went about it. Just ya know, take bits and pieces from each one of them.”

When asked the best advice he received, Morgan replied, “don’t change who you are.”

Wise words as the Hoosier alum gets a step closer to possibly hearing his name called on draft night.

Another participant in Wednesday’s workout was impossible to miss.

Central Florida center Tacko Fall, who made national headlines with his 7’7″ frame and defensive ability in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, knows all about the Blue and Gold.

“I know a lot about the Pacers, especially when Roy Hibbert was here,” Fall said. “Back when they were playing Miami against LeBron James, they had Paul George. I’ve been following them for a while, so I know a lot about them.”

Last season, Fall averaged 11.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game for the Knights.
