Colts Sanchez named ‘AFC Special Teams Player of the Week’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis Colts player is getting recognition for his performance in Week 7.

On Wednesday, the NFL announced that Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

During the Colts’ recent win over the San Francisco 49ers, Sanchez had six punts for a total of 273 yards, two of which were inside the 20-yard line. According to the Colts, in the second quarter of Sunday night’s game, Sanchez had a 79-yard punt, the longest in team history.

This is the second time this season Sanchez has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

On Sunday, the Colts return to Lucas Oil Stadium to take on the Tennessee Titans.
