State Senate committee to consider bill for Indy Eleven stadium
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A state Senate committee will take up a plan to build a new stadium for the Indy Eleven soccer team.
The team’s owner Ersal Ozdemir talked to News 8 about the plan.
He said one of the places he’s interested in is Broad Ripple High School. However, an official site has not been chosen yet.
He also said a new group of investors and a special taxing district will help fund the stadium.
The tax district would use a portion of the sales and property taxes collected at the stadium to help fund the project.
Ozdemir says the development around the stadium would be built with private money.
