Larson, Dixon visit Indianapolis Motor Speedway
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosted a couple of Team Ganassi drivers on Tuesday.
NASCAR’s Kyle Larson took some laps around the historic track in a vintage 1994 Chevy Monte Carlo pace car. Larson drove spectators around the 2.5 mile oval while simultaneously getting some extra practice in preparation for the Brickyard 400.
He was then joined by teammate Scott Dixon at the IMS Hall of Fame Museum. There they marveled over classic racing cars dating back to 1911.
Although this was a short trip to Indianapolis, Larson can’t wait to get back to the magic of the Speedway for the Brickyard 400.
“It’s fun any time you drive through the tunnel here in Indy. You kind of get chills whether you’re coming here to do media stuff or coming here for the race,” Larson said. “I have a lot of friends in the area so I’m looking forward to getting back here for the Brickyard and to hang out. I’ll probably come in early and hang out with some friends and then get to do some good racing on Sunday. Like I said, it’s always fun coming to Indy.”
