Big Game Bound: Rams, Patriots battle for the trophy

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It’s time!!!

The Super Bowl LIII matchup is locked in with the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams set to battle it out at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday, Feb. 3.

To help preview the game, Anthony “AC” Calhoun is talking to Yianni Kourakis from WPRI and Andrew Marden from KSEE.

Patriots back at it again

Another year, another Super Bowl appearance for Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

The Patriots will be making their third consecutive appearance in the Super Bowl.

Despite being underdogs against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Patriots took the AFC Championship Game and punched their ticket to Atlanta.

“How can you be an underdog winning five Super Bowls in this Brady/Belichick era?” Kourakis asked. “Patriots and Patriot fans are on Cloud Nine.”

Fresh faces from the NFC

In just their third season in Los Angeles, the Rams have made a dramatic turnaround since returning in 2016. After a 4-12 season in 2016, the Rams went 13-3 with a team led by young quarterback Jared Goff.

Head Coach Sean McVay will be the youngest head coach of a Super Bowl team at just 33 years old.

“Now you have the storylines of a young quarterback and a very young head coach and against the master and the mastermind in Brady and Belichick,” Marden said. “People here in central and southern California are just really excited because the Rams weren’t supposed to be this good just yet.”

Predictions for The Big Game

All three of the guys are picking the Patriots to topple the Rams.

Kourakis calls is 30-24 for the Patriots.

“As long as Tom Brady gets protection and (Aaron) Donald and (Ndamukong) Suh don’t get to him, I think the Patriots move the ball,” Kourakis said.

Marden thinks the Pats will take the game with a ten-point victory, predicting a 31-21 finish and Tom Brady returning for another season.

AC also calls it for the Patriots, saying he thinks it will be a blowout.
