About “Alabama Story”:

In 1959, the true story of a librarian persecuted in the Deep South captured the attention of the world.  In 2019, Actors Theatre of Indiana, the Professional Resident Theatre Company at The Center for the Performing Arts, gave the Indiana premiere of the play “Alabama Story,” inspired by this true story of reading, race and reconciliation set in the time of Dr. King’s residency at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery. Playwright Kenneth Jones has capsulized the entire play in a presentation designed especially for tonight, featuring members of the original cast – Cynthia Collins, Don Farrell, Paul Tavianini, Meaghan Looney and newcomer, Daniel Martin.

To view the play in its entirety, visit atistage.org January 18 through February 14 where you can stream this powerful piece of theater and take a brief glimpse into the deep south of the imagination.
