It’s okay to admit that sometimes parents need some time away from the kids. Katy Mann, creator of Indy With Kids has some socially distant date night ideas to help you make that happen. Even if you don’t have kids, these ideas are great for anyone looking to connect during the time of COVID.

Now that we’re able to leave the house a little bit more, you may be looking into planning the perfect summer date night, and it all starts with your outfit. Kiarra Logan, fashion stylist, Kiarra Looks has some style ideas perfect for the occasion. Here’s more from her:
Black and White Monochromatic Look:

Black and white looks are perfect for date night. They are always very chic and can be styled different ways. Try to incorporate a texture such as leather or lace when doing a black and white look. One of my favorite chic summer tanks is by NYC designer Hunter Scotto, and I paired it with a wide leg jean from Zara. Styling a basic white tee is also a great day for date night, especially if paired with a leather skort, skirt, or pants. You can dress up the white tee with a statement earring like the one I’m wearing from Shop Kn0ir.
Satin and Silk Tops:

If you’re looking to dress up your denim this summer, do it with a Satin or Silk top. I love these blouses because they are light, chic, and can be styled different ways. If I have an oversized one I usually tie it in a know right at my waist line. If you don’t have this style in your closet already, start with a local vintage or thrift store. I purchased this green gem from a online thrift store, Lime Vintage, as well as a few printed ones. Whether you are doing solid or print, make sure to pop your blouse with a fun heel. A local indy favorite for vintage is Zodiac Vintage in Fountain Square.
Printed Sets:

Printed Sets are perfect for date night because they require minimal effort. With the top and bottom matching its easy to just throw on and go. Of course you can wear them separately too, and personally I love to belt them as well. My favorite for this summer is this set from Shop Sugar Drip, a South Florida based boutique, and I paired it with a vintage belt from Washington Ave. Again, I am all for sustainable fashion when possible.
Dresses and Sneakers:

Lastly, we have dresses and sneakers. Dresses and sneakers is a date night dream come true! You get the girly/feminine, but the comfort of a sneaker. Now, there is a big difference in the “work out sneaker” and “date night” sneaker. Sneakers that we dress up tend be a little more chic and of course not overly worn in. One of my favorite go-tos for sneakers in Indy is Cargo Street Wear near fountain square. Last week one of my favorite designers Cushine dropped their collaboration with Target and I was able to get this green leopard print dress. I could not believe how lux this was from Target, but if you hurry I’m sure you can still find a few of the pieces locally.
Accessories for date night:

Accessories are definitely key for date night, and really add the extra touch. For bags, the most important style tip is knowing when to leave your big bags at home. Date nights are not for huge bags or totes. Make sure you opt for something small that just holds “the essentials”. Last summer I purchased a vintage straw bag from Vintage Store, Issa Pop Up, and I carried it on almost every night out. Little bags, big statement.
